You don’t need a storefront or a big investment. If you have a cozy space and love coffee, you can start your own café—right from home, on your schedule.

Step 2. List Your Space

Turn any part of your home—your living room, balcony, rooftop or nook—into a mini café. Add your personal touch, create a vibe, and make it your own. People are looking for something unique and heartfelt, not perfect.

Step 3: Create a Host Profile

After signing up, you’ll create your café profile with:

  • Your café name
  • Photos of your space, menu and the welcome drink/treat for the min. charge
  • A short description of the vibe (e.g. “quiet reading spot,” “cozy for chats,” etc.)
  • Available days and times (weekends, evenings, or whenever you’re free)
  • Session length per booking – set how long each guest can stay (e.g. 1, 2, or 3 hours). This defines the time covered by your minimum charge.

This step helps you set expectations and manage your guests with ease.

Create a simple menu: Let guests know what they can expect—a welcome drink, light snacks, or even a small set of offerings. Keep it simple and flexible.

Set a minimum charge per person: This is an upfront fee that guests pay when booking through the platform. Think of it as a service or space usage fee—in return, guests enjoy your cozy space and receive a complimentary drink or refreshment when they arrive.

You’ll set a minimum charge per person, paid upfront when guests reserve. This acts as a space + service fee and includes a welcome drink or refreshment. You can also offer additional drinks or snacks during the visit and collect those payments directly.

Q4. Can I choose when to host and how involved I want to be?

Absolutely! You decide your hosting hours and how interactive you want to be. Whether you want to chat with guests or just provide the space and vibe, it’s totally up to you.

Q5. What does it cost to use the platform as a host?

It’s completely free to list your space, so there’s no upfront cost. We only charge a 15% service fee per booking, which is automatically deducted when a guest makes a reservation.

Q6. How do I get paid?

All payments are processed securely through a Mooi using Stripe, a widely trusted online payment system. Everything is automated, safe, and seamless.

  • ✔ Guests book and pay through our platform.
  • ✔ Once the guest finishes their visit, your earnings will be automatically deposited into your account within 2 to 5 business days.
  • ✔ No need to handle cash—everything is done for you.
  • 💡 If guests make additional purchases during their visit (like ordering extra drinks or snacks), they can pay you directly at the spot.

Q7. Why do we have "Quiet & Cozy" and "Social & Vibrant" café categories, and how should hosts set them up?

We created two café categories to clearly match different guest preferences:

  • Quiet & Cozy Cafés offer peaceful spaces ideal for relaxation, solitude, reading, or focused work. Hosts should provide comfortable seating, quiet or gentle background music, relaxing décor, and amenities like Wi-Fi and books, ensuring minimal distractions.

  • Social & Vibrant Cafés provide chill and welcoming environments perfect for friends to hang out together, chat, and enjoy quality time. These spaces are also great if guests wish to casually meet new people. Hosts should arrange comfortable group seating, create inviting décor with warm lighting, and may include optional conversation starters or social activities.

Hosts can freely choose the café type that best matches their space and hosting style. You can even alternate between "Quiet & Cozy" and "Social & Vibrant" on different days or times, clearly communicating these details in your listing for guests.

Q8. Can I approve or decline a booking request?

Yes! You’re the boss—it’s your café, your way. You’re always in control of who visits your space.

  • ✔ Approve or decline requests based on your schedule or preferences.
  • ✔ If someone doesn’t follow your house rules, you can decline future bookings.

Q9. What if I need to cancel a confirmed booking?

Once a booking is confirmed, we strongly recommend avoiding cancellations unless absolutely necessary. Canceling for personal reasons may lead to negative reviews and could impact your café’s visibility and reputation on the platform.

🚫 Important: Cancellations cannot be made once the scheduled booking time has passed—even by our admin team.

If you truly need to cancel:

  • ✔ First, message the guest through the platform’s internal messaging system to explain the situation.
  • ✔ Then, email our admin team at service@amooicafe.com with the subject line: [Cancel Booking].
  • ✔ Our team will process the cancellation and notify you once it’s complete.
