About Us
Where Coffee Dreams Come to Life—One Café at a Time
At aMooiCafe.com, we believe everyone who dreams of owning a coffee shop deserves the chance to make it happen—without needing a huge budget, a storefront, or quitting their day job.
We’re building a global platform that helps everyday people open home-style coffee shops in their own spaces. Whether it's a living room, a balcony, or a cozy studio, you can turn it into a café that reflects your vibe, your style, and your story.
How It Started
I’ve always dreamed of running my own café. But like many, I didn’t have the extra resources—time, money, or space—to make it happen the traditional way. I needed to keep my full-time job to support my family. That’s when I realized: What if I could start small? What if I could open a part-time coffee shop—right from my own home?
And so, aMooiCafe.com was born.
Why the Name "a Mooi Café”?
We wanted a name that felt personal, warm, and meaningful.
“Mooi” means beautiful in Afrikaans—a language from South Africa, where I spent most of my childhood. To me, the word carries not just beauty, but a sense of calm, charm, and soul.
Adding “a” in front of “Mooi Café” was intentional—because this isn’t the café, it’s a café. One of many. Each one special, each one different. And you get to choose which one feels like yours.
So a Mooi Café means: A Beautiful Café. Your Beautiful Café.
Our Mission
We exist to empower coffee lovers and dreamers around the world:
For Hosts: We help you start your own coffee shop—economically, flexibly, and authentically—from your home or a space you have.
For Customers: We help you discover unique, cozy, and personal coffee spots beyond the usual crowded chains. These are real places created with heart—your new go-to Third Place beyond home and work.
Our Vision
To become the Airbnb of coffee shops—a global community where anyone can create a café, and everyone can find one that feels just right.
Because sometimes, the best coffee shops aren’t on the main street—they’re just around the corner, waiting to be found.
